dartfords - Rothko & Frost (UK) Nitro Lacquer (Coloured) Aerosols

Available in handy 400ml aerosol cans, these are popular solid colours ie opaque topcoats (including typical Fender vintage colours).

Introducing Rothko and Frost (UK) nitro paint (sometimes known as nitrocellulose paint, nitro lacquer, cellulose paint, or guitar paint) as used on vintage cars and guitars from the 50s onwards. The nitro paint is of restoration quality and is just like the paint used on these original instruments and vehicles.

Available in a range of carefully matched historically accurate colours, solid colour nitrocellulose guitar and car paints are a top coat which can be polished directly to a high gloss finish.

Recommend applying over a white or grey cellulose base coat of sanding sealer/primer. For an aged tint, try using Lightest Brown or Weak Amber nitrocellulose lacquer on top.

White and grey cellulose sanding sealer primers are for use on bare wood, underneath R&F Cellulose Paints and R&F Metallic Cellulose Paints.This acts as both a sanding sealer and a primer, helping give an ultra thin finish.

White should be used under greens, yellows and lighter colours. Grey is recommended for under blues, reds, blacks and darker colours.

Amount required varies between woods, but is usually about 150ml / 2 aerosols for a standard electric guitar body.

Nitrocellulose lacquer/paint cannot be shipped by air – it is currently delivered by road transport. Always spray in a well ventilated area, keep away from children, pregnant women and animals, and always wear suitable safety equipment including gloves and filtered facemask. Recommended for professional use only.
