Fingerboard Blank - East Indian Ebony - 1st Grade

Indian Ebony is less plentiful than West African Ebony, but displays good qualities such as being non-porous, mineral-free and is a consistent, even, dark colour. In contrast, streaking is common in current West African Ebony stocks. Indian Ebony is lighter in weight than African Ebony (approx. 8% less), but has equal (ie. excellent) compression strength and is similarly stable.

Fingerboards are sold as blanks (no slotting, no tapering and no radius). Standard blanks measure a minimum 508mm x 69.9mm x 7.9mm suitable for acoustic or electric guitars.
